Upper Right rib pain that will not go away after strep throat infection post lung surgery?

Written by admin on May 31st, 2009
I had four wedges of my lung removed in September 07. I had a Strep infection for 10 days with a bad cough. Now that the cough has resolved, this moderate to severe at times pain has started in my upper right rib and it wraps around to my back rib to the scapula at times. It has lasted for a week now. Laying on my back and right side makes the pain worse. I can only lay on my left side. Also, exhalation and sneezing are worse than inhalation.I thought I just pulled some muscles but, it is not going away. I am on antibiotics for a molar extraction so, if I had an additional infection, I believe that would have cleared it up. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
