Pains - lungs at bottom of ribcage and upper back (not muscular)?
Written by admin on November 25th, 2008I have recently had a bad cold and am still suffering with a lot of cattargh and have a tickly cough. I am suffering from pains in my lower lungs (bottom of ribcage) and sometimes at the top of my back (I am assuming my lungs also) - these pains are not there all the time but they just come on all of a sudden. My chest doesn’t hurt particularly and I was just wondering what the pains in my lungs could be. I haven’t been to the doctor yet because my cold has pretty much gone - I am just left with a tickly cough (which is not a constant cough) and these pains. Any ideas???? Many thanks.

If it’s both sides, I don’t know; if it’s right side it could be your gallbladder. If it’s still troubling you in a week or so, speak to your GP.

You may be experiencing pleuritic pain associated with inflammation of the pleural lining of the pleural cavity where your lungs lie. Constant or frequent coughing, and the presence of a viral or bacterial infection can contribute to this inflammation causing a great deal of sharp pains in the areas you described. Get to your MD and let them know about these symptoms.

listen to me carefully.i know someone recently who had the same.it went on for a long time before they discovered he had a collapsed lung.now i dint mean to scare you and its not to say u definitely have a collapsed lung but go and get it checked out anyway.in fact i know a girl who had the same a few years ago.she went around for 6 months b4 getting a proper diagnoses.good luck ad dont panic.its not life treathening just yet.go to your dr.demand an xray cause sometimes without checking doctors can diagnose it as something else.thats what happened to the last person i know to have had it.
